  • WHO WE ARE

    A Community Space with Heart

The Old Bakehouse Coffee Shop was created to bring Southport a warm, friendly environment where people can enjoy good food, genuine conversation, and a sense of belonging. Positioned at the junction of Manchester Road and Zetland Street, our café blends comfort, calm, and community spirit in a welcoming setting.

    A PLACE DESIGNED FOR PEOPLE

Every part of The Old Bakehouse has been shaped with care. Inside, you’ll find inviting corners filled with books, games, and quiet spaces that encourage you to settle in and enjoy your time. Whether you’re meeting someone or spending time on your own, the café offers an atmosphere that feels relaxed and reassuring.

We provide free Wi‑Fi for those who want to work or study, and our facilities are designed to be accessible for all visitors. When the weather allows, our outdoor seating offers a peaceful spot to enjoy the fresh air.

    A Café with Purpose

The Old Bakehouse is run as part of My Mind Matters (Merseyside) CIC, a community interest company focused on wellbeing and social support. Through this partnership, the café serves as a safe, friendly hub where people can talk openly, find companionship, and feel supported.

Each Monday, the space is dedicated to the My Mind Matters drop‑in, offering a relaxed environment for anyone seeking connection or guidance. This blend of community care and café culture is central to who we are.

    Fresh, Honest, Home‑Cooked

We prepare our dishes using ingredients sourced from local suppliers, with every meal cooked fresh in our kitchen. Our approach is simple: honest food, comforting flavours, and a menu that feels familiar and satisfying. We welcome dogs too, adding to the friendly, homely feel of the café.

    Growing Together

Volunteers play an important role at The Old Bakehouse. We offer opportunities for people to learn new skills, gain confidence, and contribute to a supportive environment. Those who join us receive barista training along with recognised certifications in food hygiene and first aid. There are also roles for people who prefer to help with activities rather than front‑of‑house tasks.

    Proud of Our Neighbourhood

The Old Bakehouse is surrounded by a network of independent businesses that bring character and warmth to this part of Southport. We’re proud to be part of a neighbourhood where people support one another and help create a welcoming atmosphere for residents and visitors alike.

    Proud of Our Neighbourhood

The Old Bakehouse is built on kindness, comfort, and community. Whether you’re here for a meal, a conversation, or a quiet moment to yourself, you’ll always find a space where you’re welcome.
